Winning a Suitcase Full of Money In Las Vegas
Not Unusual...
But During an IRS Tax Forum?
TRACY, Calif. (October 18, 2004) Kathy Richards of Santa Rosa, California (right) is shown being congratulated by Mrs. Glenna Sue Petz, Vice President (left) and Leroy E. Petz. During the recent IRS Tax Forum attended by hundreds of tax preparation professionals, Ms. Richards was the lucky winner of $1,000 in cold cash -- of course she'll receive a Form 1099 and include this as income on her tax return! Petz Enterprises held the drawing at their exhibit booth, with $1,000 in one-dollar bills prominently displayed in a briefcase.
According to Ms. Richards, "I really couldn't believe I won this money. I usually do not enter these types of drawing because I don't want to be on mailing lists. As I'm starting my own tax preparation business, this certainly comes at a good time."
